Duncan Articulates SBC Vision on Colbert

As a followup from yesterday’s Colbert Report post, we now have video of Stephen Colbert’s interview of U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, who spoke eloquently of Schools Building Communities’ theory of change when he said:

“I think our schools should be opened not just for a longer (school) day, but our schools should be community centers, open 12, 13, 14 hours a day. Activities for parents, GED classes, ESL classes, family literacy nights, health care clinics. When schools are really the center of the neighborhood and the heart of the community, our students are going do very, very well.”
