Alvarez — the Principal of the William H. Hunter Elementary School in Philadelphia — was formerly the Deputy CEO and Principal at the renown Charter High School for Architecture and Design. At CHAD, Alvarez provided strategic leadership for the advancement of the institution within the Philadelphia business community.
Not only did she promote the school’s financial, curricular and public scope, Alvarez cultivated donors that lead to the down payment of the school’s $12.5-million home at Liberty Square. A graduate of the Tyler School of Art, she earned her masters in Educational Administration from Temple University and is expected to claim her doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010.
