Philip Seabrook

sbc-seabrookSeabrook — an Assistant Vice President overseeing the Pre-collegiate Initiative in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs at Indiana University — has worked for more than 30 years to break new ground to assist potential first-generation college students make the transition from secondary to post secondary education by securing resources and designing and implementing effective programs.

He was instrumental in acquiring state funding for Indiana’s Dollars for Scholars program. That organization is a community-based, volunteer-operated scholarship foundation in cities, towns and neighborhoods in Indiana which has doled out more than $35 million to expand access to postsecondary education. Seabrook holds a degree in political science and economics from Central State University, near his hometown of Dayton, Ohio.
